A 23-year hospitality veteran, Engelhardt began his career with Hyatt Hotel Corporation, where he held various department head and executive level management positions. After leaving Hyatt, he spent three years as vice president of operations for Apples Associates, Inc. -- a Minneapolis-based hospitality management company. Engelhardt held regional responsibilities for the company's Executive Dining Program and Off Sight Catering Division as well as being directly responsible for the hotel management contracts and college food service operations throughout the upper Midwest. Prior to joining Hilton, he was president of the Atlas-Hild Land & Cattle Company in Kansas City, Kansas, primarily responsible for the development of over 700 acres of residential and light commercial property. During his tenure with Atlas-Hild, he led the daily operation of nine restaurants, five of which were operated within Embassy Suites properties and was a two-time recipient of the Promus Hotels "Restaurateur of the Year" award.
King began his career in the hospitality industry in 1987 with Wilson Hotel Management Co., Inc., a division of the Kemmons Wilson Companies (founder of Holiday Inns, Inc.). He held several management positions, including front office manager, general manager and regional trainer and accounting supervisor, before joining Hilton Hotels Corporation in 1995 as a computer support specialist. From 1996 to the present, King has held several positions within the finance division, beginning as a financial analyst and ending with his most recent position of director of finance in support of the Information Technology division.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, King earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration -- management -- and a masters of business administration -- finance -- from the University of Memphis.
